Terms of Use
Effective date:
These terms apply when you use Musklr — the iOS and watchOS apps, the website at musklr.com, and any related services we run. By using Musklr, you agree to these terms.
Who we are
Musklr is operated by Jan Sviland (Norway). Contact: support@musklr.com.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe and for activity on your account. If you sign in with Apple, the same rule applies to your Apple ID. Tell us right away at support@musklr.com if you suspect someone else is using your account.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you live somewhere where the digital age of consent is higher (for example 16 in some EU countries), you must meet that age too.
Free and Pro
Musklr is free to use forever. We also offer an optional Pro upgrade with extra features. Pro is billed through Apple's In-App Purchase system; payment, billing periods, refunds, and cancellations are handled by Apple under the standard App Store terms.
Cancelling your Pro subscription stops future charges. You keep Pro access until the end of the period you've already paid for. After that, your account reverts to the free tier with all your workout data intact.
Acceptable use
Musklr is for tracking your own workouts and sharing them with people you choose. Don't:
- Use Musklr to harass, threaten, or impersonate other people.
- Post content you don't have the right to share.
- Try to bypass security, scrape data at scale, or reverse-engineer the app.
- Use Musklr in a way that breaks the law where you live or where our servers are.
- Submit fraudulent reports against other users — the reporting system is for safety, not retaliation.
- Evade an account suspension by signing up under a new identity, or sign up on behalf of someone who has been suspended.
- Use Musklr to coordinate harassment, brigading, or targeted abuse against other users.
Blocking other users
You can block any other Musklr user from your profile or from any of their posts. When you block someone:
- They will no longer be able to find your profile, your posts, your comments, or your training programs anywhere in the app.
- They will not be able to follow you, send you a follow request, or (when direct messages become available) message you.
- You will no longer see their content either — it is hidden in both directions.
- Existing follow connections between the two of you are removed.
Blocks are silent: the person you block is not notified. They simply stop seeing you in the app. You can review and undo your blocks at any time from Profile → Settings → Blocked Accounts.
Blocking another user is not a substitute for reporting content that violates these terms — see Reporting content and users below.
Reporting content and users
If you encounter content or behaviour that violates these terms, you can report it from the ••• menu on any post, comment, profile, or training program. You'll be asked to pick a reason:
- Spam — repetitive promotional content, fake engagement, scams.
- Harassment — bullying, targeted insults, threats.
- Inappropriate — sexual content, graphic violence, content that doesn't belong in a fitness app.
- Impersonation — someone pretending to be you, a public figure, or a brand they're not affiliated with.
- Other — anything else; please add details so we can understand the problem.
What happens next:
- Your report enters a review queue. You will not be notified of the outcome — please don't take that to mean we ignored it.
- If enough distinct users report the same item independently, the content is temporarily hidden from public view while we review it.
- After review, we may dismiss the report, hide the content, remove it permanently, or — for serious or repeated violations — suspend the account that posted it.
- We aim to action reports of harassment, threats, or other safety issues within 24 hours. Other categories may take longer.
You may not abuse the reporting system. Filing reports you know to be false, mass-reporting a user out of personal grudge, or coordinating reports with other users to suppress legitimate content is itself a violation of these terms and may result in suspension.
Moderation actions and account suspension
To keep Musklr a useful place for everyone, we may take any of the following actions on content or accounts:
- Hide content — the item stops appearing in public surfaces (other users' feeds, profiles, search, the Explore tab) but remains visible to its author. Used while a report is under review or when a less serious violation has occurred.
- Remove content — the item is taken down for everyone, including the author. Used when content clearly violates these terms.
- Restore content — a previously hidden or removed item is made visible again. Used when a report is dismissed.
- Suspend an account — the account becomes invisible to other users and cannot sign in. Used for repeated violations, clear evidence of harassment or targeted abuse, evidence of ban evasion, or anything else that makes the account unsafe to keep on the platform.
Every moderation action is logged with the moderator, the timestamp, and the reason. We use this log to keep ourselves honest — moderation is a power that should be exercised carefully and rarely.
Appeals
If your account has been suspended and you believe the decision was wrong, email support@musklr.com from the email address linked to your Musklr account. We will respond within 14 days with either an explanation, a request for more information, or a reversal of the decision.
Subscription suspensions
A Musklr Pro subscription does not protect an account from suspension for cause. If we suspend your account for breaking these terms, we are not obligated to refund the unused portion of your subscription. You can still cancel future charges through Apple at any time: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
If your account is suspended for an administrative reason (for example a mistaken action on our side that we then reverse), we will work with you in good faith to make it right.
Data retention during suspension
A suspended account keeps all of its workout history, programs, and profile data on our servers — the suspension hides it from other users and from the suspended account itself, but does not delete it. If we later unsuspend the account, the data is unchanged. If you want your data deleted while your account is suspended, email support@musklr.com and we will run the same deletion flow described in our Privacy Policy.
Your content
You own the workouts, comments, photos, and other content you post in Musklr. By posting, you give us a non-exclusive licence to host, display, and back up that content so the app works — and to show it to other users you've chosen to share it with. We do not use your content to train machine-learning models.
We reserve the right to hide or remove content that violates these terms or that we are legally required to take down. Where we do so, the moderation log records the action and the reason. See Moderation actions and account suspension above.
Health and safety
Musklr is a logging tool, not a substitute for professional medical, fitness, or coaching advice. Lifting weights carries risk of injury. You're responsible for knowing your limits, warming up properly, and stopping when something hurts. If you have a health condition, talk to a doctor before starting a new program.
Service availability
We try to keep Musklr running smoothly but we can't promise zero downtime. Features may change as we improve the app. If we discontinue a paid feature you've already paid for, we'll either refund you or provide an equivalent replacement.
Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, Musklr is provided "as is." We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — for example lost data, lost gains, or lost time at the gym. Where local consumer law gives you stronger rights, those rights apply.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing support@musklr.com. The privacy policy explains exactly what's deleted versus anonymized. We can also suspend or close your account if you break these terms — see Moderation actions and account suspension above for how that decision is made and how to appeal it.
Changes to these terms
We will update this page when these terms change. Material changes will be announced in-app and by email to registered users at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Musklr after that means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Disputes that can't be settled by friendly conversation will be heard by Norwegian courts, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws give you the right to use your local courts.
